1. Accepting these terms
By accessing the QuillTide website, downloading QuillTide, or purchasing and using the software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the software.
2. Buy once, licence for life
At launch, a completed purchase grants the buyer a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use the purchased QuillTide Desktop version. The licence does not expire merely because time passes and is not a subscription.
A perpetual licence covers continued use of the version purchased. New editions, major upgrades, optional services, or third-party services may have separate terms or charges when clearly disclosed. Reinstallation and activation remain subject to reasonable licence verification and technical compatibility.
3. Your work remains yours
You retain ownership of manuscripts, notes, artwork, audio, project data, and other content you create or import. QuillTide receives no ownership of your creative work merely because you use the software.
You are responsible for having the rights needed for material you import, publish, share, or distribute.
4. QuillTide ownership
QuillTide, its software, branding, interface, original artwork, documentation, and related intellectual property remain owned by QuillTide and its licensors. Buying QuillTide gives you a licence to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of the software’s intellectual property.
5. Permitted use and restrictions
You may use QuillTide for personal and commercial creative work. You may install it on computers you own or control for your own use, subject to reasonable activation safeguards.
You may not share or sell a licence key, redistribute the software, present QuillTide as your own product, bypass licence or security controls, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits that activity.
6. No AI
QuillTide does not use artificial intelligence of any kind. It does not generate writing or images, train models on your work, or silently send creative material to AI services.
7. Purchases, support, and updates
The price, supported platforms, included software version, and any purchase-specific terms will be shown before payment. Support is provided through the published QuillTide support channels.
QuillTide may release maintenance updates, compatibility fixes, or new versions. Continued compatibility can depend on operating-system and hardware changes outside QuillTide’s control.
8. External services
Links or optional connections to third-party websites and services are governed by those providers’ terms. QuillTide is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.
9. Availability and responsibility
QuillTide is provided with reasonable care, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Keep independent backups of important work and review exports before publication or production use.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies, warranties, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, QuillTide is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or software.
10. Ending use, changes, and contact
Your licence may be terminated for a material breach of these terms, including unlawful redistribution or licence-key abuse. Provisions concerning ownership, restrictions, and responsibility continue where their nature requires it.
These terms may be updated for future use of the website, connected services, or later software versions. Changes do not convert an already purchased perpetual licence into a subscription.
