What is QuillTide?General

A desktop app built around books. Writing, planning, reading, design, publishing prep and author admin all live in one application, so you can stop app-hopping.

Is QuillTide only for writers?General

Nope. There's a whole reader side too, right next to the author and book-production stuff.

Does QuillTide use AI?AI

No. No AI of any kind, generative or otherwise. We're extremely boring about this.

Is my manuscript sent to or used by AI systems?AI

No. QuillTide does not send manuscripts to AI services, use them as model input, or use them for AI training. Ever.

Where is my work stored?Privacy

Core QuillTide Desktop projects are built to live on your computer. Optional online features are clearly labelled and send only what that action needs.

Does QuillTide require permanent internet?Privacy

Not for the core creative work. Update checks, licensing where it applies, and optional online sharing or lookups may need a connection.

Can I write an entire novel?Writing

Yes. Go wild. Manuscript Studio is built for long projects, with chapters, scenes, word counts, goals, organisation and export.

Can QuillTide create EPUB and PDF files?Book Design

Yes, QuillTide can prep and export EPUBs and PDFs. The book design areas are still being worked on, so they're marked Beta. We're not going to pretend every bit is finished.

Can QuillTide open EPUB and PDF files?Reader

Yes. Read EPUBs and PDFs, highlight, collect quotes, take notes and track what you read.

Which systems are supported?Technical

QuillTide Desktop supports Apple Silicon Macs, Intel Macs, and Windows 10/11 x64. The Windows installer is currently unsigned; read the installation notes before buying.

When is QuillTide 1.0 launching?Technical

The public launch is 12 October 2026. Checkout is open now, so you can purchase and download QuillTide Desktop ahead of launch.

Why does Windows show an unknown publisher warning?Technical

The Windows installer is not code signed yet. For the official QuillTide installer, a SmartScreen ‘Windows protected your PC’ prompt may offer More info, then Run anyway. Read the Downloads page for the full steps. Do not bypass a malware detection or turn off Windows security; contact support if installation is blocked.

Is QuillTide a subscription?Purchasing

No. QuillTide is buy to own. At launch, one purchase gets you a perpetual licence for the desktop version you buy. No monthly anything.

How much does QuillTide cost?Purchasing

QuillTide Desktop costs US$120 as a one-time purchase for a perpetual licence to the version you buy. Any applicable taxes or currency conversion are shown at checkout. Optional Reader+ and Ripple+ plans are separate.

How do I activate QuillTide?Purchasing

Purchase through the official Lemon Squeezy checkout, download the installer for your computer, and keep your receipt and licence key. Enter your licence key in QuillTide after installation. Initial activation needs an internet connection.
